5K Elf Run

http://results.pttiming.com/raceresults/101307-Elf_Age.pdf

That's where you can see race results from today's Elf Run in Oconomowoc, WI. I was 14th out of 41 in my age group, 160th overall out of 431, and finished my 5K in 24:57. Had I been able to keep up my mile one page of 7:30, I would have finished a bit higher up. But around mile 1.5 I started getting a cramp in my stomach/ribs, and then around mile 2 it felt like my left sock was bunching up under the ball of my foot. It wasn't, but I was breaking in my brand new shoes I bought last night, and apparently that was a bad idea. Not a really bad idea, since my old shoes were starting to show signs of wear (foot rolled in too far). Guess next time I should prepare a little better!

Holiday Hullabaloo!

Taking a moment out of my hat making frenzy to post the info about next Saturday's craft fair in Manitowoc. Hopefully all my hours of knitting and sewing will pay off to a great day of many happy shoppers! If you're in or near the Manitowoc area, or just feel like going for a drive, be sure to stop in to the Manitowoc Coffee Hall on S. 8th and Franklin in the downtown area and check it out! December 5th, 10am til 4pm. Many thanks to Kim Geiser at Persimmons for putting this event together.

Busy making hats!

Using some of my vacation time to make hats for the upcoming craft fair in Manitowoc on December 5th. Just finished this fleece ear-flap hat. Took less than 2 hours (I forgot to stop the clock when I paused for a cantaloupe break). Now that I know how all the parts get sewn together, I should be able to whip up a bunch of these in different colors in no time!

Also spent some time over the last 2 weeks "perfecting" this checkered knit hat. It took a lot longer to knit this one than I thought it should, but I like how it turned out. Whomever buys this one is getting a steal at just quarters paid per hour! And if no one buys it, I'll be more than happy to keep it for myself. :)

Knitting Hats

This year I've decided to step up my knitting skills and make hats. After a few rounds of pulling the yarn to the wrong side a dropping a few stitches, I've finally got the rhythm of it. Still a bit slow, but I've got the rest the month to master my skills. December 5th I'll be participating in Manitowoc's very own Holiday Hullabaloo at the Manitowoc Coffee Hall at the corner of 8th and Franklin. I'll be selling these hats (plus many more!) as well as keychains and sketchbooks. Come check it out!

Exposing Myself

Someone made a good point the other day. If you want to get your work out there, an easy way to do it is to create a blog so people can find it. It's worth a shot. I'll be uploading pictures shortly. In the mean time you can check out some of my work at www.artbykelli.etsy.com for a few items that are up for grabs.
